PURPOSE:To prevent the scattering of molten metal during high-speed plating by keeping metal for plating at a temp. at which solid and melt coexist, slurrifying the metal by agitation, and coating the resulting slurry on one side or both sides of a steel sheet through rolls. CONSTITUTION:Metal is melted in each molten metal vessel 2 by heating with a heater 3, and the molten metal is introduced into a cooling vessel 4' and cooled to a temp. at which solid and melt coexist with a cooling pipe 4. At the same time, a motor 1 is driven to slurrify the metal by agitation with an agitating rod 5 and a blade 6. The resulting slurry is poured on a pickup roll 8 through a slit nozzle 7 and transferred to an intermediate roll 9 and a coating roll 10 in succession. The slurry is then coated on both sides of a heated steel sheet 11 traveling between both coating rolls 10.
