PURPOSE:To simplify document editing with a simple operation by indicating a part of the output picture information of an output means for picture information including the document information by a flag at a prescribed position of an output area of the output means. CONSTITUTION:The picture data stored in tables A, B... of a device H8 which is controlled by a multiplexer of a picture editing device are selected by a format file table 9. While a sentence file table 14 selects the documents and formats of a sentence part 12 and a format part 13 within a sentence file 11. The position of a print face 16 of a form 15 which displays the picture information given from the device H8 on a CRT, etc. is indicated by an upper blank part I, a binding margin part II, an opposite side III to the part II and a lower blank part VI. Then a prescribed position of a partial output area of the picture information including the document information is indicated by a flag. Thus the documents are edited with a simple operation of a keyboard, etc.
