发明名称 PRODUCTION OF OPTICAL FIBER MULTICORE CONNECTOR PLUG
摘要 PURPOSE:To mold integrally a multicore connector plug at terminals of optical fiber cores including a housing only by using one pair of metallic molds by providing metallic molds which have many V grooves with a preliminary arraying mechanism which bundles terminals of optical fiber cores to high density by utilizing V grooves. CONSTITUTION:A clamp 21 for the preliminary arraying of optical fibers and pins is fitted to tip parts of V grooves 17 for optical fiber array and grooves 18 for pin array of the lower part 16 of a metallic mold. Pins 24 are inserted into inverse triangular holes along the V grooves 18, and optical fibers 8 of optical fiber cords 1 are inserted, core by core, into inverse triangular holes along the V grooves 17; and optical fiber coating parts 2 are installed in a groove 20 for arraying core coating parts and the clamp 22 for arraying optical fiber cores is fitted from above to press the core coating parts, so that the preliminary arraying the terminals of the optical fiber cores is completed. Then, the upper pat 23 of the metallic mold is fitted in the metallic mold lower part 16. Consequently, the optical fibers and pins are sandwiched between the plane part of the metallic mold upper part and the V grooves of the metallic mold lower part to array the optical fibers precisely. Then, molten plastic is injected into the cavity in the metallic mold and caked to mold the plug.
