摘要 PURPOSE:To reduce a combustion noise and to improve power and fuel consumption by arranging a fuel injection nozzle to inject fuel toward a projection part on the boundary between a swirl chamber and a connecting hole, and providing a fuel injection ocntrol means for switching the injection mode to a main injection near an upper dead point of compression. CONSTITUTION:A connecting hole 16 to join a swirl chamber 15 and a cavity 12 serying as a main combustion chamber is formed. A projection part 17 is made on the boundary between the swirl chamber 15 and the connecting hole 16, and a fuel injection nozzle 18 for injecting fuel toward the projection part 17 is arranged. A fuel injection control means is provided for making a main fuel injection near the upper dead point of the compresssor stroke after making a pilot fuel injection on the compressor stroke by operating the fuel injection nozzle 8. Also, an ignition control circuit 21 is provided for controlling ignition caused by a spark plug 19 to be made between the pilot injection and the main injection. In this way, a combustion noise is largely reduced, and power and fuel consumption can be improved.
