PURPOSE:To measure an operating surface profile precisely by detecting a locally worn part speedily by a surface temperature distribution meter such as an infrared thermometer and taking a rough measurement and a close measurement of the locally worn part by an optical profile meter. CONSTITUTION:A cooling lance 1 incorporates the beam profile meter 5 which has a projector 3 and a photodetector 4 and the infrared thermometer 6, and the projector 3 is so constituted as to reflect a laser beam by a rotary mirror 12 and irradiate the surface of the fireproof wall of a molten metal container 2. Molten metal is discharged and respective measurement points on the surface of the fireproof wall of the container 2 are irradiated with the laser beam. Then, detection signals regarding respective angles and distances are inputted to a central processor 6 to calculate coordinates of the respective measurement points. The wide-area profile of the operating surface is measured firstly by this rough measurement. A high-density scan is made by the infrared thermometer 6 after the temperature drops by 20-30% to detect an abnormal surface temperature part. Its detection signal specifies the position of the local worn part by the device 16. Further, the locally worn part is irradiated with the laser beam to take a close measurement. |
