<p>PURPOSE:To prevent securely a steering shaft from accidental locking by disabling a cylinder lock from pivoting on the way of returning it to a locking position and adding a further operation to pivot said lock. CONSTITUTION:When a key is turned to pivot and return a cylinder inner 4 toward the locking position, a convex portion 12a engages the clockwise end of a concave portion 4a intermediate the turned-on and -off position, and a stopper ring 12 is pivoted toward the locking position. However, since a convex portion 3e for knotting a flange 3a is fitted and held in a concave portion 11f for knotting a releasing ring 11, the releasing ring 11 is not pivoted. Thus, a lug 12b engages a stopper 3c to stop further returning and pivoting. When under such condition the releasing ring 11 is pivoted in the locking direction, the stopper ring 12 moves toward a cap 13 and the lug 12b is disengaged from the stopper 3c so that the cylinder inner can be pivoted to the locking position.</p> |
