摘要 PURPOSE:To improve the strength and rigidity of a valve contact surface part in a cylinder head at a high temperature, by forming the cylinder head such that a fiber reinforced metal is used for a part corresponding to a valve seat and a covering layer is formed on a valve contact surface part by use of a wear-resistant metal alloy material which is either one of Fe group alloy, Ni group alloy, Co group alloy and Cu group alloy. CONSTITUTION:A fiber reinforced metal 1 containing reinforcing fibers is used for a part of a cylinder head 3 made of light alloy such as, for example, magne sium alloy, corresponding to a valve seat, and a covering layer 2 is formed on the valve contact surface of the corresponding valve seat part with the use of a wear-resistant alloy material which is either one of Fe group alloy, Ni group alloy, Co group alloy and Cu group alloy. With this arrangement the strength and rigidity of the base material part of the valve contact surface under a high temperature condition may be enhanced to restrain its thermal expansion, and it is possible to enhance the bonding strength of the wear- resistant covering layer on the valve contact surface part, thereby it is possible to prevent the covering layer from peeling off.
