A security device, particularly for bank counters or the like, consisting essentially of a movable armour plate (1) actuated by a pneumatic jack (2) and disposed in the window (3) under a cover (4) closing the slot through which it passes, the cover being mounted in a hinged manner, characterised in that the closing cover (4) is actuated by a driving means (5) capable of displacing heavy loads and fed in common and simultaneously with the pneumatic jack (2) actuating the armour plate (1).
