The invention relates to a device allowing, without risk of breaking or scratching the panes, to make a groove in the cover strips or mastic flashings around the perimeter of the pane, in order to inject a silicon seal between the pane and the cover strip. It is composed of a power unit 1 with a rotary shaft 2 equipped with adjusting washers 3 for adjusting a depth guide 4 for a slotting cutter 5 fixed by a screw 6 equipped with a steel ball 7 (which avoids contact between the cutter and the pane). The assembly is fixed to a support 9 which is placed on the pane, the cutter under the action of the user is put in contact with the cover strips or flashings to be slotted and to create the groove. The support is moved on the pane, which serves as a guide. <IMAGE>
