PURPOSE:To prevent burning of a dry sample, to measure the sample accurately and to obtain the standard for the adjustment of the optimum moisture content in preparing compost, by heating the sample of livestock manure including a large amount of moisture step by step so that high temperature sequentially becomes low temperature, obtaining an absolute dry state, and computing the moisture content. CONSTITUTION:A sample A of livestock manure including a large amount of moisture is put on a receiving pan 5 in a heating and drying chamber 2. The receiving pan 5 is directly connected to a supporting shaft 8 of a load call 7 in a weight measuring chamber 3 under the drying chamber. The weight and the absolute dry weight of the sample on the pan 5 are displayed in digital values on a display panel 10 through an operating circuit 4, which is housed in a display chamber 9. The chamber 9 is provided in front of the measuring chamber 3. The inside of the heating and drying chamber 2 is sequentially heated step by step by a heating part 6, which is provided around the chamber, from high temperature to low temperature. Thus an absolute dry state is obtained. The buring of the dry sample is positively prevented, and the moisture content is measured. The moisture content is accurately detected, and the required amount of additive materials, amount of moisture to be removed and the like for obtaining optimum moisture for compost preparation are found. Thus perfectly matured compost is obtained in a short period. |
