PURPOSE:To shorten the data transfer time to a minimum b setting intervals, at which storage unit blocks are transferred between a host device and a storage device, to a minimum time and requesting the command retry if a response from the host device cannot be obtained. CONSTITUTION:A central processing nit CPU 1 issues write and read instructions for an IC memory storage device 5. A channel device 3 controls data transfer between a main storage device 2 and a controller 4 in accordance with instructions form the CPU 1, and the controller 4 controls data transfer between the IC memory storage device and the channel device in accordance with instructions from the channel device 3. With respect to data transfer between the main storage device 2 and the IC memory storage device 5, intervals of transfer of storage unit blocks are set to the minimum time, and the command retry is requested if a response from the main storage device 2 for the next data transfer request cannot be obtained, and the next data transfer request is delayed stepwise in accordance with the number of retries to transfer data between them. |
