In the prepn. of a cleansing- and bleaching compsn. comprising a material having cleansing activity, a builder, a bleaching per-cpd., an organic activator and ethylene diamine tetra(methylene phosphonate), (I), an aq. detergent slurry, comprising the material having cleansing activity and builder, is spray-dried in a spray-drying tower. The spray-dried base-powder is then mixed with the per-cpd. and the activator. - Novelty consists in preparing a separate aq. slurry contg. (I) and Ca(OH)2. This slurry of (I) is spray-dried at the same time as the main aq. detergent slurry, in the same spray-drying tower, through one or more nozzles which are situated at the same level or below the main nozzle system for the detergent slurry.
