PURPOSE:To set up a sufficient capacity surge tank in a lower position and thereby lower the overall height of an engine, by installing each fuel distributor in each cylinder group, while situating a projection part of the surge tank in position between each of these distributors. CONSTITUTION:A surge tank 3 is set up in an empty space A lying between plural cylinder groups 1 and 2, while plural connection ports 4 and 5 opened to both side faces of the tank are connected suction ports 6 and 8 of each of these cylinder groups 1 and 2 via each of branch pipes 7 and 9. And, fuel injection ports 12 and 13 opened to each of these suction ports 6 and 8 are formed in the vicinity of a connection part to each of these cylinder groups 1 and 2, and fuel injection valves 14 and 15 are connected to each of these fuel injection ports 12 and 13. Then, each of fuel distributors 16 and 17 is installed in each of these fuel injection valves 14 and 15 as being situated in position between each of these branch pipes 7 and 9 and the surge tank 3, while a projection part 3a of the surge tank 3 is set up in an empty space C between each of these fuel distributors 16 and 17. |
