PURPOSE:To obtain a transfer-type thermal recorder capable of making it impossible to read recorded information from a used ink donor sheet (IDS) and thereby preventing the recorded information from leaking, by applying a hiding agent to a heat-sensitive ink layer of an IDS passed through a thermal recording head. CONSTITUTION:A guide roll 12 and a take-up roll 3 are provided on the IDS1 discharging side of a recording part 4 consisting of a back-up roll 5 and a thermal head 6, and the used IDS1 is fed in the direction of an arrow and is taken up by the roll 3. On the other hand, a recording sheet 11 is released from the IDS1, and is discharged to the exterior of the recorder. Between the guide roll 12 and the take-up roll 3 are provided a corotron 7 for negatively charging the surface of a heat-sensitive ink layer of the used IDS1, a developing unit 8 for applying a positively charged toner having the same color as that of the ink layer onto the surface of the ink layer, and a pressure fixing unit 9 for fixing the applied toner to the surface of the ink layer, whereby the information left on the used IDS1 is hidden by the toner. |
