PURPOSE:To apply a monitor system which utilizes optical fibers even for a power transmission line by providing an optical fiber insertion part for optical fiber enclosure from the upper end to the lower end of a main insulator body nearby its surface part. CONSTITUTION:For example, the long rod type main insulator body 1 equipped with a spriral shade 2 is provided with the optical fiber insertion part 4 where an optical fiber 3 is enclosed from the upper end to the lower end near the surface layer part of the shade 2. In this case, the optical fiber 3 may be enclosed by forming a through-hole at the tip part of the shade of the main insulator body 1 and inserting the optical fiber 3 into it, or forming a recessed groove at the tip part of the shade 2, fitting the optical fiber 3 therein, and then sealing the surface with an insulating material. This is suspended on a power transmission line from iron steel arms by utilizing upper and lower caps 5 and 6, the lower end of the optical cable 3 is connected to an optical sensor, and the upper end is connected to an overhead earth-wire composed of an optical fiber composite cable. |
