The invention relates to a spinning process of the type involving transporting separated fibres 8 to a yarn-working and -formation zone 10, characterised mainly in that the fibres are transported mechanically by gripping them over some of their length as far as the working zone 10, where at least one of the ends of said separated fibres is grasped by a twisting means 6, 15, 16 and is integrated into the forming yarn.
