PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a ceramic composite material higher in hardness and toughness than conventional ones and high in credibility and a manufacturing method therefor.SOLUTION: There is provided a ceramic composite material consisting of a first phase containing at least one kind of carbide or boride having higher thermal expansion coefficient than SiC of 30 to 70 vol.% and SiC of 30 to 70 vol.% and a second phase containing at least one kind of carbide or boride having higher thermal expansion coefficient than SiC of 5 to 30 vol.% and SiC of 70 to 95 vol.%, inevitable impurities and a component added as a sinter assistant, where the second phase having maximum major axis of 20 to 200 μm is dispersed in the first phase.SELECTED DRAWING: None |
