PURPOSE:To obtain a wire material coil having stable quality by winding immediately the wire material after hot or warm rolling, in holding furnace, etc. and performing a direct softening heat treatment by using sensible heat of the wire. CONSTITUTION:The wire material M appearing from a hot or warm rolling mill 3 is formed to spiral shape by a laying head 4, and wound immediately in holding furnace such as a pot furnace 5 provided near the head 4. The temp. of the furnace 5 is risen to a desired temp. by a heating unit 6 provided therein. If the material M is wound to a coil M', said furnace is closed tightly by a furnace lid 7. The coil M' is cooled slowly or the heat is held during the transportation and subjected to the direct softening heat treatment. Or the material M after rolling is introduced to slowly cooling furnace such as continuous furnace to perform said treatment. By the method, whole of the coil M' can be softened uniformly, and the wire coil having stable quality is obtained. |
