The apparatus allows measurement of the hand motor dominance of an individual, his motor asymmetry from data supplied to the sensor system, and to analyse the kinematic aspect of his hand motor action. It comprises a mechanical system consisting of two discs 1 and 2 which are set in rotation independently of each other, one by the right hand and the other by the left hand, which rotation is in the horizontal or vertical planes, the disc supports 3 and 4 then lifting up around 5, and an electronic system for capturing and processing the data collected. The start command, given by a light, acoustic or touch signal, makes the computer active. The latter measures which hand started first; the reaction time, in milliseconds, before starting; the number of rotational revolutions for each hand; the rotation time of the hands, in milliseconds, per 1/10@ rotation; the direction inversions, if they exist. The results are either printed or displayed on a video monitor or stored on audio cassette. This invention is of interest to neuropsychologists, psychologists, those involved in studying motor coordination, etc. <IMAGE>
