PURPOSE:To warn surely a user of erroneous spelling when he inputs erroneously spelling of English words, by providing a voice synthesizing device and a speaking means which produces a voice on a basis of the output signal of this device. CONSTITUTION:A CPU10 discriminates whether an English word inputted with a character key 3 and a spece key 4 exists in a dictionary memory 11 or not. If it does not exist there, this English word is displayed and flickered on a CRT8, and spelling of this English word is outputted to a voice synthesizing device 13. The voice synthesizing device 13 outputs data, which is obtained by converting spelling of the English word outputted from the CPU10 to an audio signal in accordance with a normal speaking mode, namely, a speaking mode set preliminarily by combinations of vowels and consonants, prescribed number of times. The audio signal outputted from the voice synthesizing device 13 is amplified by an amplifier 14, and the English word outputted from the CPU10 is spoken from a speaker 15. Then, an operator operates a correction key 5 and the character key 3 to correct spelling. |
