发明名称 MANUFACTURE OF THERMAL HEAD
摘要 PURPOSE:To efficiently obtain a thermal head with favorable heat response characteristics, by incorporating a fine glass powder into a glass powder in an amount not smaller than a specified amount. CONSTITUTION:In a glass paste for forming a heat-accumulating element 2 therefrom, a fine glass powder having an average particle diameter of not larger than about 5mum is incorporated in an amount of not smaller than 20wt% to the total amount of a glass powder. Since the amount of water content and gas component adsorbed on the particles of the fine glass powder are extremely small, bubbles formed upon firing are small, so that even when the bubbles are exposed to the surface of the heat-accumulating element 2, the surface roughness can be reduced to such a degree that is does not adversely affect the printing quality. Further, versatility is created in various controls for restricting the generation of bubbles upon firing and the exposure of the bubbles to the surface of the element 2, and a thermal head with favorable heat response characteristics can be efficiently obtained. The average particle diameter of the fine glass powder is preferably 0.5-1.0mum.
