PURPOSE:To attain high speed printing without stopping paper feed by forming one dot line through the repetition of power application in tilted print, dividing data of one dot line for plural number of times and printing gradation through expression. CONSTITUTION:A signal is inputted from a clock generating circuit 1 to a scanning direction dot counter 2 and the count number of a value dividing the line number with a divided number is counted. Then a counter 4 for gradation count counts the signal by gradation number. Then the gradation number is divided by the scanning number of one line. The counter 4 for gradation number count counts signals repetitively by the same gradation region by the number of times of divided number and when the dividing number counter 5 completes the count, a scanning number counter 6 counts one signal and the count is continued until one line is finished. While a gradation data memory 3 calls the gradation data, the data of the counter 4 is fed to a data generating section 7 and a pulse modulation data is formed through the comparison with the gradation data to attain printing.
