Inserted into the drive of the feed bars (5) or their constituent parts (21), between feed-bar part (21) and the cross head (14) and between the crank (9) and the connecting rod (12) are bearings (13, 20) which, after being decoupled, can be moved by an equal amount of adjustment (34) into a position which changes the longitudinal movement (29) of the feed bars (5, 21) via an adjusting unit (24) and an adjusting driving unit (28) which can be brought into effective connection with the cross head (14). Due to the adjustment of both bearings (13, 20) by the same amount of adjustment (34), the starting position of the feed-bar parts (21) is maintained, allowing these (21) to be held fast by way of arresting means (22) in a predetermined position for a feed-bar changeover. <IMAGE>
