PURPOSE:To judge whether endless belts are usable or not and to extend the life thereof by providing respectively belt cleaning devices, rust removing devices, correcting devices and inspecting devices on the side of the belts where a mold is not constituted. CONSTITUTION:A mold is constituted of both endless belts 4 and dam blocks 7. Belt cleaning devices 12, rust removing devices 33, correcting devices 21 and inspecting devices 25 are respectively provided on the side where the mold is not constituted. The device 12 removes a coating material and the build-up thereof and uses selectively brush rollers during and after casting. The device 21 corrects the deformation of the belts 4 by means of correcting rollers 22 and a roller 23. The device 25 inspects the crack of the belts 4, the deposition of a molten metal thereon and the hole defect of said belts by using ultrasonic flaw detection, etc. The device 33 removes the rust occuring in cooling water by using a wire brush roller 33 to prevent corrosion of the belts 4 and the decrease in cooling effect. |
