PURPOSE:To set the spring characteristic of a suspension to a soft or hard state and ensure comfortability to ride in a car, etc. by supporting a sub spring on a cylinder unit and locking the operation of the cylinder unit as requested. CONSTITUTION:A cylinder unit 4 is supported on a mount base 2 mounted and supported on the body of a car through mount rubber 5. The unit 4 consists of a cylinder 6 and a piston 7 and a sub spring 8 is hung between the cylinder 6 within a hydraulic chamber (A) and the piston 7. The hydraulic chamber (A) and a hydraulic chamber (B) are connected mutually through a connection path 11 and an opening and closing valve 12 and a check valve 13 are inserted in parallel in the middle of this connection path 11. As a result, if the car moves up and down following the undulations on a road surface, both main and sub springs 16 and 8 are expanded and contracted and oil is reciprocated between the hydraulic chambers (A) and (B), while the spring constant of the suspension indicates a low value in which the spring constants of the spring 16 and 8 are synthesized. |
