PURPOSE:To peel surely periderm of bulb, by providing conveyor belts having a section open to the top, opening at a given angle, having different transportation speed, with the top air pipe facing downward above the conveyor belts, and the bottom air pipe facing upward at the bottom of the conveyor belts. CONSTITUTION:In the conveyor belts 9 and 9' having a section open to the top, opening at a given angle, having different transportation speed, the top air pipe 17 having the spray nozzles 20 facing downward is set above the conveyor belts, and the bottom air pipe 21 having the spray nozzles 23 facing upward is laid at the bottom of the conveyor belts. Namely, the bulb 15 having the slits 16 on the periderm is pressed to the conveyor belts by compressed air sprayed from the nozzles 20, the periderm is peeled, the periderm is also peeled by compressed air jetted from the nozzles 23, the bulb is brought into contact with the conveyor belts and transferred while the bulb itself is being rotated by the conveyor belts having different transportation speed. Since the pipe 21 has small change in distance based on the size of the bulb, only the periderm is surely peeled.
