<p>The non-skid device for vehicle tyres comprises a number of discs (11) arranged in spaced apart disposition on a steel cable (10) and separated by spacer sleeves (12). The discs (11) are of a larger outside dia. than the spacer sleeves (12) and freely tiltable on the cable (10). In use, the device is engaged with a peripheral groove (17) in the tread of the tyre with the discs (11) protruding outwardly from the groove. The discs may be planar and of steel, or conical and of spring steel. The spacer sleeves may be of metal eg. aluminium, or resilient plastics material. With metal sleeves, elastically yieldable material may be provided between the discs and the sleeves.</p> |
