PURPOSE:To obtain a laser video disk or the like which improves corrosion resistance of a vertical mgnetized film consisting of an amorphous magnetic metal formed on a substrate, maintains the photomagnetic chracteristic without deterioration and has excellent durability by providing an intermediate layer consisting of metallic carbide between the substrate and the magnetized film. CONSTITUTION:An intermediate layer of 100Angstrom -1mum consisting of metallic carbide of Si, W, Cr, Mo, Ni, Nb, Hf, B or Zr is formed by a vacuum deposition method, etc. on a substrate made of glass, plastic, etc. directly or, after formation of a protective layer or grooved resin layer consisting of an inorg. dielectric material such as SiO2, Al2O3, TiO2, Si3N4, etc. or polysiloxane paint, etc. in some case. A vertical magnetized film consisting of an amorphous magnetic alloy such as GdFe, GdTbFeCo, etc. is formed on the intermediate layer into a single-layer or multi-layer structure. Al, Cr, Au, etc. are further formed in this order as a protective film on the magnetized film. The deterioration in the photomagnetic characteristic of the magnetized film by the effect of moisture and gaseous O2 is thus prevented and the photomagnetic recording medium having excellent durability is thus obtd. |
