PURPOSE:To receive an urgent broadcast while rejecting unnecessary broadcasts by providing a specific station with a reception selecting means which rejects and allow the reception of a general broadcast and a means which receives an urgent broadcast forcibly during the rejection of the reception. CONSTITUTION:When a general broadcasting device 1A reject the reception of the general broadcast sent from a general broadcasting device 1 through a coaxial cable, a password number for the reception rejection is inputted and a reception selecting means l-A operates through a rejection key detection means k-A while a general receiving means i-A and an operation state control means f-A are both turned off. When a receiver needs to receive the broadcast forcibly in case of the occurrence of an important event, the password number for an urgent broadcast is inputted to the device 1 and then an urgent broadcast key detecting means (m) operates an urgent broadcasting means (n) to transmit an urgent broadcast signal. This signal is discriminated by the signal discrimination means i-A of the device 1A and the means f-A is put in operation. Thus, the urgent broadcast is received while unnecessary broadcasts are rejected.
