PURPOSE:To shorten the drying process, save the labor, heighten the production efficiency, and eliminate color mixture and differences in the thickness of coating on the central and peripheral areas by coating fluorescent material particles smaller in diameter than those previously coated, when the fluorescent material- coated surface is wet during the process of drying by heater. CONSTITUTION:A fluorescent material suspension is poured with the inside surface of a face plate turned up, and an extra fluorescent material suspension is shaken off through high-speed rotation. After that, the face plate is dried by use of a heater with its inside surface turned sideways. Then the fluorescent material coated on the inside surface of the face plate is getting dried gradually from its center area toward its peripheral area. When the center area begins to dry, the air including fluorescent material particles of a small diameter, which is kept at the temperature of 25-30 deg.C with the humidity of 60-80%, is sprayed on it. Then the extra fluorescent material sprayed on the inside surface of the face plate is removed by a warm air at 35-40 deg.C and, after that, the fluorescent screen is dried again by use of the heater. |
