PURPOSE:To omit the means at and after an exposure control process and to attain the shading correction with no waste by distributing proportionally the shading data values of a light source for correction so that the coincidence is obtained between the maximum value of the film picture data and that of the shading data. CONSTITUTION:A peak holde 11 detects the peak values PK1 and PK2 of the shading data SD1 and the picture data VD. The output of the holder 11 is switched by a switch 12 and supplied to an A/D converter 13 or D/A converter 15 as the reference voltage respectively. The data SD1 is digitized by the converter 13 and stored into a shading memory 14. Then the corrected shading data SD3 is read out by the converter 15. The shading data values of a light source are distributed proportionally so that the coincidence is obtained between the maximum value of the film picture data and that of the data SD1. This omits the means at and after an exposure control process and ensures the shading correction with no waste.
