PURPOSE:To perform surely the continuous winding-up of a thin strip by introducing the strip without causing its deflection and to improve the productivity of a line by blowing air against the lower side of the strip, running in a free state between the front and back of a flying shear; in the continuous winding of the thin strip solidified by quenching wherein the flying shear is interposed. CONSTITUTION:A thin strip 4, formed by quenching a molten metal by cooling rolls 3, is held between upper and lower endless chains 8 and is delivered by a deflector roll 5 and pinch rolls 6 to enter the space of a flying shear 9 through pinch rolls 13 for flying shear 9. Next, the strip 4 is continuously wound up by the winding reel 12 of a carousel reel 11 from a threading conveyer 10. The front end of strip 4 is first introduced to the conveyer 10 without causing its deflection by blowing up the air of proper pressure from nozzles 14-1, 14-2 arranged in the space between the front and back of the flying shear 9; after shearing the strip 4 by the shear 9, the rear end of strip 4 is introduced to the conveyer 10 in the same manner without causing the deflection. Accordingly, the line is prevented from causing a snarl, and the productivity is improved. |
