PURPOSE:To make a high-precision positioning work easy and to attain high adhesive strength by providing guide holes, with which positioning guide members should be engaged, and temporary adhesive applying holes in a gimbals and providing a guide groove, which avoids guide members engaged with guide holes, on a carriage or a head arm. CONSTITUTION:When the gimbals 3 is attached to a carriage 1, the gimbals 3 is brought into close contact with an adhesive face 1c and is held by elastic holding members 8a-8d, and guide members 7a and 7b are engaged with guide holes 3e and 3g or guide holes 3f and 3h, and the gimbals 3 is positioned while monitoring a magnetic head 5 with a microscope. When the gimbals 3 is positioned, a temporary adhesive is applied to holes 3a-3d to adhere temporarily the gimbals 3 to the adhesive face 1c, and thereafter, the gimbals is removed from jigs, and a real adhesive 8 is applied to the outside circumferential edge of the gimbals 3. This positioning work is performed with high precision easily by using jigs. Since the temporary adhesive is stopped near holes 3a-3d in corners of the gimbals 3, it does not harm real adhesion.
