Device for limiting the pressure in an engine lubrication circuit, especially an internal combustion engine, comprising a pump 5 connected to the engine block by a duct 18 for supplying lubricating liquid and a discharge valve 9 able to shut off a pipe 10 connecting a delivery duct 11 of the pump 5 to a suction duct 12 of the latter or to a tank, this valve 9 being provided with a slide valve 13 having an active face 15 which delimits a first chamber 16, characterised in that the chamber 16 is directly connected to a part 7 to be lubricated via a second duct 17 separate from the supply duct 18 for the aforementioned liquid. This arrangement makes it possible to maintain a pressure which is always sufficient, in line with the parts to be lubricated, especially bearings of a drive shaft. <IMAGE>
