PURPOSE:To provide a novel substance produced by stimulating human peripheral lymphocyte with an agent for inducing a tumor cell damaging substance, giving specific damage to tumor cell without affecting normal cells and useful as a remedy for malignant tumor. CONSTITUTION:The objective tumor cell damaging substance is a protein produced by stimulating human peripheral lymphocyte with an agent for inducing a tumor cell damaging substance (mitogen) (e.g. ConA) and having the following characteristics. Molecular weight, 80,000+ or -5,000 Dalton (gel-filtration) and 18,000+ or -1,500 Dalton (electrophoresis with a polyacrylamide gel containing SDS); isoelectric point, pH 5.4+ or -0.3; stability, inactivated at <=5.0pH; affinity to concanavalin A, PHA and Lentil-lectin, non-adsorptive; physiological activity, exhibiting cytotoxicity against L cell originated from the connective tissue of mouse; cytotoxic specificity, damages specifically and exclusively tumor cells. |
