Vehicles sunroof operating mechanism

The operating mechanism has a guide shoe (110) displaced along a guide rail (90) attached to the vehicle. A lever arm (132) is pivoted at one end (134) to the guide shoe (110) and slides along a slot in a fixing element (150) attached to the sunroof at the opposite end. The guide shoe (110) carries a control cam (170) which cooperates with the fixing element (150) to displace it and the sun roof upwards for closing the sunroof giving, at the end of the sliding movement. Further displacement of the guide shoe (110) along the guide rail (90) causes the lever arm (132) to pivot about oneend (134). This displacement allows the sunroof to pivot into a ventilation position in which its rear edge lies above the surface of the vehicle roof.
