The invention fulfils the requirement for the smallest possible contamination of the air when operating enamelling lines or dipping baths. Two cover flaps per container are opened and closed via linear motors (preferably pneumatic sliding cylinders). The arrangement of the cover flaps is telescopic so that in the case of a row of containers distances between the individual containers for opening the cover flaps are not required. The sliding and the locking cylinders for opening and closing the cover flaps are installed on the transport vehicle. The extractor system need only be operated for the respectively opened container and can be switched off again after the charging or emptying of the container after the cover flaps have been closed. In addition to improving the extraction air situation, energy costs are also improved by means of the cover, in particular in the case of hot baths, as a result of reduced cooling. <IMAGE>
