发明名称 MOLECULAR ARRANGEMENT TREATMENT OF LIQUID CRYSTAL IN LIQUID CRYSTAL CELL
摘要 <p>PURPOSE:To enable molecular arrangement treatment of a liquid crystal without receiving the limitation of a spacer which partitions a liquid crystal cell by passing current to scanning electrodes or/and signal electrodes and forming such a local temp. gradient at which the temp. is lower in the central part of the cell than on the spacer side under generation of Joule's heat. CONSTITUTION:Electric current for heating is passed to at least one of scanning electrodes Y1-Yn and signal electrodes X1-Xn and molecular arrangement treatment is performed while Joule heat is generated so as to form such a local temp. gradient at which the temp. is lower in the central part side of the cell than a spacer 13 side for partitioning the inside of the liquid crystal 11 disposed with the electrodes Y1-Yn and the electrodes X1-Xn in intersected directions in the stage of subjecting the liquid crystal material 15 in the cell 11 to the molecular arrangement treatment. The impressed voltage of the current for heating is made into the trough shape which is smaller from both sides in the arranging direction, i.e., the spacer 13 side, toward the central part side of the cell with respect to, for example, the electrodes X1-Xn. Said voltage is so impressed that the voltage is gradually larger toward the advancing direction of crystallization with respect to the electrodes Y1-Yn. The crystallization is then progressed from the central part without receiving limitation by the spacer.</p>
