<p>A storage and display unit (10) for flowers and other perishables including a cabinet (11) which defines a viewing chamber (19) that is open to the outside environment and within which the perishables are positionable for storage and viewing and removal from outside the unit. The unit includes an evaporative cooling and humidification system (45) contained within the cabinet which is operable to direct onto and envelop perishables (13) supported in the viewing chamber with cooled and humidified air having a relatively high moisture content so as to maintain the perishables in a fresh and attractive condition during storage and display, while enabling direct access to and viewing of such items.</p> |
