PURPOSE:To ensure the detection of the cracking of glass and the like at the instance of its occurrence, by optically coupling a light receiving element, which receives light from a light emitting element on one side surface, so that a part- to-be-checked of a light transmitting member to be inspected is located between the light emitting and receiving elements. CONSTITUTION:A fixing device 3 comprises a cabinet 4 and a glass plate 5 at the lower surface. Six xenon lamps 7 and a reflecting plate 6 are provided in the inside. A light emitting element 9 and a light receiving element 10 are optically coupled to the edges of both sides of the glass plate 5 through optical fibers 8. Light is emitted from the light emitting element 9 toward the facing surfaces of the glass 5 through the optical fiber 8 and detected by the light receiving element 10 through the optical fiber 8 on the other side. Thus the crack of the glass and the like can be positively detected at the instance of occurrence thereof. |
