<p>The balance with a pan and a spring employes displacements which operate a rack which engages with a pinion. The latter rotates with the moving part of a scale from which the weight may be read off. A zeroing device is included together with a rack adjustment for calibration purposes when the pan is loaded with a standard weight. The weight indicating scale rotates about an axle. The portion adjacent to the graduation is visible through a transparent window. Zero adjustment is provided by rotating a small knurled button.</p> |
