Retaining device which can be fitted to a cable plough

In order to improve the manipulation of cable drums, a retaining device which can be fitted to a cable plough is constructed such that the supporting fork which supports the cable drum is connected to at least one arm which can be pivoted about a pivoting axis which is essentially vertical, by means of a drive device, as a result of which the supporting fork and hence also the cable drum can be pivoted out laterally to the right and left with the respect to the centre line of the cable plough.
