PURPOSE:To eliminate possibility that contamination which adhered once to a cleaning member adheres again to a paper feed device by moving intermittently the cleaning member for cleaning the paper feed device, and making a new cleaning part contact to the paper feed device. CONSTITUTION:A cleaning brush 11 will rotate in the direction as indicated with an arrow D by frictional force against a friction belt 3, but is does not rotate because a ratchet wheel 21 is always controlled for the rotation by a ratchet 22. On the other hand, when a paper feed roller 4 rotates, a small gear 25 rotates by a prescribed revolving speed by a driving shaft 6 for drivng this paper feed roller 4, and a pin 26 provided vertically on a large gear 24 is made to contact and engaged with the lower end 22d of the ratchet 22. Also, when the large gear 24 rotates, the pin 26 rotates the ratchet 22 in the direction as indicated with an arrow F around a shaft 26 against the elastic force of a spring 23 to disengage the ratchet wheel 21 and the ratchet 22. As a result, the cleaning brush 11 rotates in the direction as indicated with an arrow D, and a new cleaning part contacts the friction belt 3. |
