PURPOSE:To obtain an electrophotographic sensitive body suitable for the Carlson method, high in reliability, prevented from peeling, and long in life by using a mixture of a hardenable resin and a polyester resin. CONSTITUTION:A mixture of a hardenable resin and a polyester resin is used as the binder resin of a protective layer to be formed on the surface. Such a protective layer can be formed by coating the surface of a photosensitive body with a soln. of said resin mixture and drying it or applying to the surface the film of said mixture formed in advance. As the photosensitive body used here, an org. photoconductor obtained by dispersing into a binder, an electrostatic charge transfer complex, such as poly-N-vinylcarbazole, and a pigment, such as phthalocyanine, are enumerated, and especially, a photoconductor contg. a polycarbonate resin, etc. in the surface layer is preferable. Adhesion between this protective layer and a photosensitive body, especially between it and an org. photoconductive layer is greatly enhanced, and the layer is prevented from peeling during use. As a result, an electrophotographic sensitive body thus obtained is suitable for the Carlson method, high in mechanical strength, long in life, and high in reliability. |
