<p>PURPOSE:To obtain a titled device capable of controlling the sheet width of a material more precisely by measuring further the sheet width at the outlet side of a rolling roll and correctingly controlling the position of an edging roll, in a roll position controlling by assuming the sheet width at the outlet side of edging roll basing on the sheet width at the inlet side thereof. CONSTITUTION:The sheet width 5 and temperature 4 of a material at the inlet side of an edging roll 4 are inputted to a prediction device 6 used for predicting the sheet width at the outlet side, and a control device 8 is actuated by the values computed by an arithmetic device 7 to control the position of roll. Further, the width position 9 of material at the outlet side of a rolling roll is detected, and a correcting value at a correction device 10 is inputted to the devices 6 and 8 to correct the roll position. A system by the feedback of the value of width position detected by a width-position detecting instrument 11 located at further downstream side is also available when occasion demands. Thus the sheet width is precisely maintained by these corrections.</p> |
