PURPOSE:To provide a thermal recording material based on a leuco dye and a coupler reduced in background color development and enhanced in the plasticizer resistance, the fingerprint resistance and the light fastness of a formed color image, prepared by incorporating a specific ether compound in a heat sensitive color forming layer. CONSTITUTION:In a thermal recording material prepared by providing a heat- sensitive color forming layer based on a leuco dye, e.g., 3-(N-methyl-n-cyclohexylamino)-6-methyl-7-anilinofluoran, and a coupler, e.g., bisphenol A, and, if necessary, containing a binder such as PVA, a filler such as calcium carbonate, a surfactant or a heat-meltable substance, an ether compound represented by the formula (wherein X<1> and X<2> are halogen, m and n are an integer of 1 or more and m+n is 2-10) is incorporated pref. in an amount of 10-50wt%. |
