PURPOSE:To find out simply a precise crest value from two parameters; a section range between a contact and an intersected point both are produced by a pulse radar and a wave, and the wavelength of the wave, by using the pulse radar having range resolution sufficiently shorter than the half-wavelength of the wave. CONSTITUTION:A pulse radar wave having distance resolution sufficiently shorter than a half of the wavelength of a wave is radiated from a radar antenna 1. A crest measuring device measures the wavelength of the wave from an echo signal of the wave and also measures section ranges R12-R11, R22-R21, R32-R31 between contacts 1-1-3-1 of radar waves 3-5 and the waves and intersected points 1-2-3-2 of said radar and the waves, respectively. After said measurement, the crest measuring device calculates the crest value (h) of the wave on the basis of respective measured values of these measuring means and a waveform function selected from previously stored plural waveform functions. |
