Two grippers (26, 32) are provided which can be applied to two mutually remote points on the periphery of a screw closure and are formed on pivoting arms (8, 30), which are pivotably connected to each other via a joint (52 to 55, 62). One pivoting arm (8) is provided with a handle (14) by means of which the gripper (26) of this one pivoting arm can be pivoted in the manner of a cam to a reduced distance from the other gripper (32) when the handle is rotated in the direction of opening of the screw closure. The other gripper (32) can be pushed in the manner of a cap onto a screw closure, having an annular gripper section (42, 43) and a cover plate (44) which can be arranged thereupon like a cap. <IMAGE>
