<p>Disposable absorbent article comprises topsheet 24, 112, impervious backsheet 22, 114, optional wadding sheets 34, 36 and a pad assembly 26, 116 having one or more surfaces coated with absorbent polymer 81, 118 (e.g. polyacrylonitrile) to give improved fluid absorption, dispersion and retention.
