When decelerating DC motors, a reversal of the current direction can occur, that is to say current can flow from the motor to the current source. This phenomenon is a particular problem when the current source is an alternating-current generator (17) and non-commutated rectifiers (18) are connected between this generator and the motor (20). To limit the unwanted current flow, the novel control system contains a power load (21) and an electric control circuit (26) which switches the power load (21) between motor (20) and generator (17) as soon as the counter-EMF calculated from the operating data exceeds the permissible value, in order to achieve better dynamic deceleration and a rapid reversal of the direction of rotation, for example of a vehicle drive motor. <IMAGE> |
